October 17, 2002 -- MedAssets was named PURCHASER OF THE YEAR today by the Health Industry Group Purchasing Association (HIGPA) at the 2002 HIGPA International Expo in Orlando, FL. HIGPA vendor members cast votes to recognize the group purchasing organization (GPO) that provides leadership, innovation and commitment to the industry.

Accepting the award on behalf of MedAssets from Ed Gravell, EXPO Steering Committee Chairman, were John Bardis, Chairman and President, MedAssets, Inc., Rand Ballard, President, MedAssets HSCA, and Gene Banner, Senior Vice President of Contracting, MedAssets HSCA.
